Teacher Coach Breathe Yoga SXM

Erica left her career as a corporate lawyer to pursue her passions – yoga,  and coaching.  She has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and has had a deep love for it since her very first class – a donation class in New York City’s Central Park. In 2012-2013, she owned a successful yoga studio in Holland, Breathe Amsterdam. After moving to Sint Maarten she decided to continue Breathe on the island, making it her goal to share yoga and the philosophy of self-love through her yoga and meditation classes, her yoga prison program, writing and life coaching.

Erica has practiced a variety of yoga traditions including Iyengar, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Bikram. Her practice and teaching style reflect a combination of the practices she enjoys – and even some Pilates to help target and train the deep core muscles – with strong emphasis on healthy alignment. She in a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 yoga teacher. She received her teaching certification from Rishikesh Yog Peeth yoga school in Rishikesh, India.

After making yoga an integral part of her life, Erica saw amazing improvements in her concentration and overall happiness. E-RYT200She also saw her asthma and the arthritis in her hands completely disappear. She is a believer in the healing power of yoga.

Erica’s classes are very upbeat.  Many of them are taught to music.  She especially enjoys working with people new to yoga. She believes in making sure that students are comfortable, learning, and most importantly enjoying their experience. She welcomes questions during and after class.

ali duncan lead trainerExpressing herself as a yoga teacher has been very rewarding to Ali. She studied in India, where she learned so much more than yoga and meditation, she learned how to make yoga a part of her everyday life and not just while on her mat. Incorporating yoga into the different roles of her life has been rewarding. Being an intuitive healer, a wife, a mother of 3, step mom of 4, and now Maji ( grandma) to a wonderful little boy, has made her more balanced and happy.

Ali loves seeing people grow in their practice, and experiencing her own personal evolution as well. She truly appreciates being able to share a big part of herself through her teachings, trainings, clearings, and spiritual guidance.

sasha mall, yoga instructor / holistic health coach

sasha breathe bio pic 1Sasha fell in love with Yoga in 2010 when she first attended a class held in her hometown of Johannesburg South-Africa. She immediately realized that there was a lot more to all of the postures she was breathing into and sought to learn more.

Always maintaining her daily Yoga practice, she was encouraged to be a part of the Breathe SXM YTT. She discovered her enthusiasm to share her practice with others and has been teaching ever since. Bringing in a sensual element into her flows, she embraces all aspects of femininity and teaches women the importance of practicing daily self-care rituals so they may honor themselves as divine beings.

After completing her Bcom degree in Marketing Management and deciding that she wouldn’t be working in corporate, she felt compelled to pursue her passion for a career sasha breathe bio pic 2in the Health and Wellness field. In 2016 she graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is now certified as a Holistic Health coach.

She is thrilled about guiding and supporting women to take responsibility for their health and achievement of their personal wellness goals whilst empowering them along the way.

Sasha is happy to teach anyone interested in learning about the beauty of Yoga in a way that is accessible to them. She now resides in sunny Sint Maarten together with Santo her gorgeous German Shepherd and princess cat Lily.

elizabeth rogers, guest yoga instructor

Elizabeth-93Elizabeth Rogers has been practicing yoga for more than 16 years. In 2003 she received her teaching certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts, and has been teaching ever since.

Elizabeth was introduced to yoga following her recovery from breast cancer, and found that her practice was enormously helpful in regaining a sense of balance in her life. She then retired from a career in banking and systems analysis to pursue a more holistic path.

One of her greatest joys is to help people find and restore their center of calm, peace, and well-being using a gentle, spiritual, and nurturing approach through her teachings of yoga. Elizabeth is also a practicing Reiki Master.

Elizabeth’s classes are peaceful and restorative. Her voice and her wonderful energy make her classes the perfect place to get centered and relax.

Sint Maarten/St. Martin yoga teacher

Manja started doing yoga 5 years ago to gain more strength. She’s been hooked ever since. After just one class she realized that she was interested in exploring the depths of yoga and even teaching herself. She has been teaching poweryoga now for 3 years. In the summer of 2014 she graduated with a degree in physical therapy, and she is eager to combine the two. At the moment she is teaching yoga to patients with low back  and shoulder pain, due to a weak core and instability, at a physical therapist practice.

Manja has been practicing daily for two years. She’s gained a lot more self-esteem, happiness and peace through her practice. A headstand can really helps to reduce stress! She thinks there is a type of yoga for every Guest Yoga Teacher Sint Maarten/St. Martinperson. Restorative, yin or hatha in stressful times; vinyasa, poweryoga or asthanga when you need more energy and strength; Iyengar if when you want to know more about the alignment of poses; and Kundalini, for example, if you are spiritually inclined.

Manja brings all of her experience to her yoga classes…but keeps the spiritual parts for the students themselves. She want her students to feel that movement helps mood and makes them feel better, more relaxed and happier.
